For Post No. 01 to 03: Post Graduation Degree in Agricultural Engineering/ Geology/ Hydrology/ Water Resources Management/ Social Work preferably in Community/ Rural Development.
For Post No. 04 & 05: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Law, Finance, Business Management, Commerce, Agriculture/ Agriculture related Disciplines or in Economics.
For Post No. 06: Graduation in Agriculture with MBA/ Post Graduation/ Post Graduation Diploma in Agriculture Business Management.
For Post No. 07: Post Graduate Degree or one year Post Graduate Diploma in GIS/ Geo informatics and/ or Remote Sensing.

The need to grow more food was felt during the 19th Century because of the increasing pressure of population. After getting encouraging results in an effort made during 1915-16 to stop soil loss, Mr Kitting, the then Agriculture Director started soil conservation work from 1922.
